Equipment and Resources PolicyThe toys, equipment and resources in pre-school provide opportunities for children on their own, with other children or with adult help, to develop new skills and concepts in the course of their play and exploration.The equipment and resources we provide:Are appropriate for the ages and stages of the children.Offer challenges to developing physical, social, personal and intellectual skills.Feature positive images of people, both male and female, from a range of ethnic and cultural groups, with and without disabilities.Includes a range of raw materials, which can be used in a variety of ways and encourages an open-minded approach to creativity and problem solving.Will enable children, with adult support, to develop individual potential and move towards required learning goals.Are safe and conform to all the relevant safety regulations and is sound and well made. (BSEN Safety Standards of Toys (Safety) Regulations 1995)Are sufficient for the number of children attending the setting.Are checked regularly to ensure they are safe, clean and meet the needs of all children attending the pre-school.Are removed straight away for repair or replacing, if damaged or broken.Are stored away at the end of each session and set-up before the children arrive at the beginning of each session.We plan our activities in advance to include any social, local and religious events and inform parents in a newsletter at the beginning of each half term.We use recycled materials in our Art and Craft play |
